PARKS AND RECREATION CENTER NOTES -

 

 

SKI & SNOWBOARD PINE CREEK registrations being accepted.   One day trip (Feb 13) $29. Bus Transportation provided. Ski & Snowboard rentals available at Pine Creek Resort.  Youth must be 10 yrs or older, unless accompanied by an adult.

 

CANYON’S DISCOUNT LIFT PASSES are available for purchase at the Rec Center. Rates are $64 per Adult Pass and $44 per Youth/Senior. Current Canyon’s rates are $81-adult and $48-Youth/Sr. Canyon’s Pass rates at the Rec Center will be the same throughout the 2009/10 season.

 

COUNTRY SWING DANCE; Learn a variety of dances on Feb 18 and/or Feb 25.  Sign up for one or more classes; $6 per person/per class.  $2 discount if paid by the Sunday before each class.

 

SCHOOL’S OUT REC SWIM offered Feb 15 from 1:30- 4:30 pm general admission/pass required.  Children under 9 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 16 years and older.

 

WOMEN’S SPRING VOLLEYBALL registration deadline Feb 14.  Fee $260 per team, $25 discount if paid by Feb 7.  League play begins Feb 22. 

 

ADULT & YOUTH X-COUNTRY SKI LESSONS held Saturdays Feb 18 – Mar 6.  Meeting Thur, Feb 18 from 7-8 pm at the rec center for all participants.  Youth 8-14 will ski from 10-11 am and Adults 15 yrs & up will ski from 11 am – 12 noon.  Fee $20, $5 discount if paid by Sunday prior to session.

 

FATHER/SON NIGHT OUT, sponsored by Smith’s Food King on Friday, Feb 6 from 7-9 pm.  Have fun participating in Ski Jumping (sleds and scooters) and enjoying dinner – meat and veggie tray.  Fee $12 for 2 people, $5 discount if signed up by Feb 21.  $2 each additional person.

 

CHINESE NEW YEAR TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT will be held Feb 20.  Divisions are open to juniors 17 yrs and younger, fee $20 and adults 18 yrs and older, fee $25.  Registration deadline Feb 17, $5 discount if paid by Feb 14.   

 

YOUTH COED VOLLEYBALL registrations underway until March 1.  League for 3rd-6th grade girls and boys fee $20, $5 discount if paid by Feb 21.

 

BOWHUNTER EDUCATION CLASS will help you become a safer and accomplished bow hunter.  Class offered for those that are 11 years and up on March 6 from 8 am – 6 pm at the BEAR Community Center. Register at the recreation center by March 3, fee $5.

REC CENTER HOURS, Monday through Friday 5:30 am – 10:00 pmSaturday 10:00 am – 5 pm & Sunday 12:00 noon – 5:00 pm.  

PUBLIC REC SWIMS are scheduled Mon-Fri 11:00 am–1:30 pm wading pool only and 7:00–8:30 pm; Sat 12 noon-4:30 pm andSun 1:30-4:30 pmLap swim hours are scheduled Monday – Friday 5:30–7:30 am; 11:00 am–1:30 p.m.; 5:00–5:55 p.m.;  8:30 – 9:30 pm, Sat 10 am – 12 noon and Sun 12:00 noon-1:30 pm.  Hot Tub closes ½ hour before closing. 

 

FITNESS CLASSES include; Morning Cardio Mix T/Th 5:30 am; Kick, Punch & Crunch M/F 6:30 am; Maria’s Toolbox T/Th 9:30 am; Gentle Yoga W/F 11:00 am-12:00.  Evening Aerobics M/W/F 5:30 pm; NIA T/Th 5:30 pm, Yoga T/Th 6:30 pm.  Group Cycling classes are held 5:30 am and 12:10 pm on M/W/F.  (Advanced reservations required for group cycling).  Adult Water Exercise is held M/W/F from 10:00 – 10:55 am and 6:00 to 6:55 pm.  Aqua Jogging and Water Walking are also available during daily lap swim times.  Call 789-1770 for more information and regarding holiday fitness class schedule. 

 

SENIOR FITNESS ACTIVITIES include Senior Water Exercise Classes held Mon, Wed and Fri 9-9:55 am.  Senior Walk, Swim and Soak will be held Tues and Thurs 11am to 1:30 pm at No Charge plus Happy Hikers Club and Sr. Circle Splash N Dash for walkers is available all days and hours of operation.  Happy Hikers cards can be obtained at the Evanston Senior Citizens Center.  Sr. Circle Splash N Dash cards available at Evanston Regional Hospital.

 

CHILD CARE is available while you work out Mon - Fri 8:45 am – 1 pm.  Hourly and monthly rates available.
