Bill Thoman Jr. Memorial Wrestling Tournament
Sponsored by Wyoming Embroidery, this dual format tournament features 16 teams. They include Central, Green River, Torrington, East, Douglas, Lander, Wheatland, Worland, and Evanston from Wyoming. Colorado teams are: Centaurus of Lafeyette, Moffat County from Craig, Chaparral of Denver, Rifle, and Vista Ridge of Colorado Springs. Utah has a team from Uintah High from Vernal and Scottsbluff High from Nebraska.
This Tournament has 2 components:
1) Dual Team tournament deciding a TEAM Champion.
2) Best of the Best- The finale to the Thoman Dual Wrestling Tournament is a match-up of the top competitors at each weight class. Using a specific set of criteria, the top 2 wrestlers from each weight are selected to compete against each other in what is known as the Best of the Best. Wrestling starts at 1:30 on Friday and then at 9am on Saturday with the Best of the Best slated for 3:30.
