The Evanston Rotary Club will be picking up Christmas Trees within the Evanston City limits on Saturday January 9, 2010 starting at 9:00 am. The public is asked to put their discarded Christmas Trees out on the curb no later than 9:00 am Saturday morning January 9th. Christmas trees must not be bagged. Tree stands, lights and other decorations must be removed.
The Evanston Rotary Club has sponsored the Christmas Tree Pick Up Community Service Project since 1991. The trees will be stock piled at the Overthrust Ball Park south parking lot near I-80, and then be chipped and re-cycled into mulch and compose to be used in city parks and landscape areas.
Prior to January 9, Christmas Trees can be dropped off at the Overthrust Ball Park South parking lot, where Tree Drop Off signs will be posted. No other dumping of any kind will be permitted. For more information call the Evanston Parks and Recreation office at 789-1770.
