BROWN BAG THURSDAY @ UINTA COUNTY MUSEUM
BROWN BAG THURSDAY AT THE UINTA COUNTY MUSEUM
TO DISCUSS WYOMING STATE HOSPITAL
Take a break from your weekly routine and bring your lunch to the Uinta County Museum on January 7 for Brown Bag Thursday. This special program is held on the first Thursday of each month between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM. There will be an open forum about museum activities and, more specifically, Wyoming State Hospital. Approved by the territorial legislature in 1886 and completed in 1887, the institution in Evanston was initially referred to as an ?insane asylum.? The name ?Wyoming State Hospital? was formally adopted in 1923. It remains the only state-operated psychiatric facility in Wyoming, providing a full range of programs and services for adults.
At the museum, feel free to stroll through the exhibits, browse the gift shop, peek behind the scenes, or just relax in a quiet atmosphere. The museum will provide the beverages. Brown Bag Thursday is designed to give local residents a chance to fit a visit to the museum into their busy schedules. It will also give the staff an opportunity to collect comments and suggestions about museum operations.
The Uinta County Museum is located at 1020 Front Street in downtown Evanston. It is open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday.
