1st annual 4th of July Festival of Fire
@ the Evanston Middle School Football Field. Featuring games, a dunk tank, a performance by the EHS Classics, Music, Food & Drink, and Uncle Sam Look-Alike contest and of course an awesome Fireworks display courtesy of Porter's TNT fireworks & the City of Evanston. No discharging of persoanl fireworks will be permitted at this venue or the Overthrust Ballfields, as in the past.  Bring your lawn chairs for this fun for the entire family styled event. For more information, please call City Hall @ 783-6300.

The City of Evanston is proud to sponsor the 1st Annual 4th of July Festival of Fire.  In order to kick off this inaugural event and one that we hope will continue to grow in the future, we are asking for your financial support for this City wide promotion.  Any amount of contribution would be appreciated, and we would also ask you to consider budgeting for this annual event in the coming years.  This event will be held at the EMS Football Field with activities beginning at 7:00 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.  There will be no admittance fee.

Our local pyrotechnics, The Porter Brothers, will be shooting fireworks from the E-Hill and the show will be choreographed with patriotic music that will be broadcast over FM 91.3 radio and through loud speakers on the field.  This festive will be a very fun, family oriented, “Baseball, Hot Dogs, and Apple Pie” event, featuring a DJ, a dunk tank and several other games for the whole family to enjoy and participate in.  There will also be food and nonalcoholic beverages available for purchase.  The EHS Classics will be coordinating the activities and as well as performing some of their award winning routines.  Our advertising and promotion will encourage families and attendees to bring their own lawn chairs to participate in this fun filled event.  There will be no individual or personal fireworks allowed to be discharged at the event or the Overthrust Ball Fields as has been done in previous years.

We would also like to challenge all citizens and businesses to enter the “Uncle Sam Look Alike Contest” that will be judged by the EHS Classics.  The winners of this contest will receive “Chamber Checks”.

To help sponsor this great event, please send a check payable to the City of Evanston, 4th of July Fireworks.  Thanks you in advance for your generous donation.

                                                                       Sincerely,

                                                                       William R. Davis, Mayor
