State Hershey Track and Field Games
Evanston will be hosting the State Hershey Track and Field Games in 2009 and 2010. The date for the event this summer is Saturday, June 20. Qualifiers from around the state will come to Evanston to participate in the meet and attempt to qualify for the North American Final held in Hershey, Pennsylvania later this summer. There will be activities on Friday night at the Recreation Center and the meet is held at the Evanston High School Track beginning at 9:00am on Saturday morning. Volunteers are needed to help run the meet. If you are interested in helping on June 20, please contact Brenda Richins at the Recreation Center, 789-1770 or brendaeprd@allwest.net

21st Annual High Uintas Classic
Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday leading up to the race, in the Evanston City Council Chambers. Please try to attend these meetings, if possible. If you are unable to attend these meetings, or if you have any questions, please feel free to call Terri Arnell at 783-6470 or email tarnell@evanstonwy.org. Please visit www.evanstoncycling.org for continuing updated information about snow conditions at Bald Mountain Pass, and about the race. If you know of anyone else interested in assisting with the race, please invite them to attend the meetings. All volunteers will receive a race t-shirt and water bottle. The Evanston Cycling club and the City of Evanston are again preparing for this summer’s bike race. Please know that the 21st annual Cook-Sanders Associates, Inc. and The Spence Law Firm High Uintas Classic Stage Race, “OVER THE TOP,” is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21, 2009. Please accept this as an invitation to assist as a volunteer for the race.
