The Evanston Urban Renewal Agency has scheduled a public workshop on the Strand Theatre for Thursday, October 2 from 6 to 8 pm in the Beeman-Cashin Building. On the agenda are an update on immediate plans for stabilizing the building, discussion of potential uses for the Strand, and ideas for fund-raising. Architectural renderings will be shared to help participants visualize the potential initial use of the building as a park.
Representatives from the Wyoming Main Street Program, the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office and the National Trust for Historic Preservation will be on hand to provide information about similar efforts in other communities and resources available for restoration projects.
